Sweet granadilla may look like the common passion fruit (yellow variety) but there are several differences. The tip of this fruit ending in the stem. The seeds are surrounded by transparent jelly-liked pulp instead of orange pulp. The outer shell are much harder and it does not wrinkle when ripens.
Sweet granadilla is yellow to orange in color on the exterior. It may not be as popular but the taste is still as sweet with the unmistakable aroma of the passion fruit. The numerous black seeds are edible though it is slightly crunchy and hard. Stay sweet and try it!

I have a weakness for passiflora flowers - one of the most beautiful flowers in nature, I think. Too bad they are not hardy enough to grow in my garden.

yum, i too have a soft spot for any passion flower fruits, granadilla being my favorite, oh the aroma!!!! Im blessed to reside in Costa Rica, tropical fruit paradise :)
I just ate a couple. Cut the top off and spoon out the insides. I am currently in Peru and just found out about this fruit. So very tasty. I hope I can find this when I get back the U.S. some where. You have to try one of these!
